December 2025
It is with immense pride we announce that 14 Eagle Scholarship students have completed a significant milestone in their academic journey. Our founders, Jane and Jeroen, were honoured to join these accomplished students to celebrate their graduation from Form 4 in October 2025. Following the graduation ceremony at Edmund Rice Sinon Secondary School in Arusha, Jane and Jeroen presented each graduate with a special gift to mark their hard work and dedication throughout their scholarship.
Academic Excellence Rewarded
Having passed the National Examinations with flying colours, these students have earned their places at advanced-level secondary schools and are all set to commence Form 5 when the new academic year begins in July 2026. We are thrilled to highlight the exceptional talents and efforts of three of this year’s graduates:
- Dionisia: Awarded best student in English, Biology, and Geography, and also recognised as the overall best student in the Class of 2025.
- Deograsia: Celebrated as the Best Student in Chemistry.
- Paschal: Honoured for Outstanding Leadership and demonstrating his commitment beyond academics.
The discipline, commitment, and ambition of our Eagles are a constant source of inspiration. They consistently rank among the top-performing students at Edmund Rice Sinon Secondary School, underscoring the robust academic foundation our scholarship program provides.
“Seeing these 14 Eagles soar is incredibly moving,” said Jane and Jeroen. “Each one has demonstrated remarkable resilience, intelligence, and spirit. This moment is a testament to their hard work and the transformative power of education. We are immensely proud to have supported them on this vital part of their journey.”
The Evolution of the Eagle Scholarship Program
Our Eagle Scholarship Program has undergone evolution and refinement over the years. We’ve continually adjusted our approach to match changes in Tanzania’s education policies. While we initially offered scholarships for up to ten years, we now provide support for up to nine years. A major change took place after 2018: government policy shifts in 2019 prohibited students from repeating class levels.
Previously, scholarship students repeated Standard 4 to ease their transition to boarding school. Consequently, Eagles now commence their scholarship in Standard 5. This shift led to the 2019 intake of nine students joining the previous year’s intake in Standard 5, creating a cohort of 14 students in that year – the very same group we are celebrating today!
Kamitei’s Impact Today and Tomorrow
In 2025, Kamitei’s Eagle Scholarship program has proudly supported 57 students across primary and secondary levels. This December, we are welcoming seven new scholars who earned their scholarships through our rigorous selection examinations. These latest high achievers will begin their educational journey at Kilimanjaro English-medium school in January 2026.
A Legacy of Success
Since commencing in 2009, the Eagle Scholarship program has empowered 95 students. We are proud that 97% have completed their scholarship, with the vast majority progressing to higher education. Furthermore, 10 graduates are now employed, contributing to both the formal and informal economy, truly showcasing the life-changing power of education.
We are so excited to see what these brilliant graduates accomplish next! Would you like to know more about the specific impact the scholarship has had on individual students? Contact us to find out more.
