Where
WE WORK

OUR FOCUS IS RURAL TANZANIA

Originally operating in 7 primary schools in Northern Tanzania, Kamitei has broadened its efforts since 2023 to other rural areas, particularly those rich in natural resources where communities have launched conservation-driven social enterprises. In these Wildlife Management Areas (WMAs), Kamitei collaborates with local pastoralist communities to improve schools using revenue from natural resources.

This expansion highlights Kamitei’s commitment to enhancing education in underserved regions and promoting sustainable development through local resources.

For over 20 years, Kamitei has dedicated itself to enhancing educational opportunities for children in rural Tanzania, aiming to lift lives out of the cycle of poverty through improved basic education for future generations.

communities we support

The Kamitei Foundation currently supports primary schools and provides scholarship opportunities to more than 20 rural communities in different areas of Tanzania, benefiting 15,000 children annually.
